Dance and Music: Merengue is the national dance and music of the country, however Bachata, Salsa, Reggaeton and Dembow are also extremely popular across the island.

Celebrated Holidays: Some notable holidays are Altagracia Day on January 21st, Independence Day on February 27th, Semana Santa in early April, and Noche Buena (Christmas Eve) is celebrated on December 24th.

Festivals: The most popular festival in the country is El Carnaval, which is celebrated in February of each year.

Religion: The population is 49% Catholic & Christian, 26% Evangelical Protestant, 29.4% have no stated religion and do not identify as atheist or agnostic, other religions include Seventh-day Adventists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Church of Jesus Christ and non-evangelicals.
